An eruption chart is a listing of the different types of teeth in the mouth and at what age, on average, they come out, or ‘erupt’ from the gums. An eruption chart also lists when you can expect children’s teeth to come out. The family dentists at Dental Care Today in Fishers use them to track the development of our patients’ teeth.
If you have a toddler who has not yet had a dental exam, we encourage you to schedule an appointment. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that dental visits begin before the first birthday.
It’s important to keep an eye on your child’s habits, in case they start something that could impact their dental health. Thumb sucking, for example, is perfectly normal. Most kids outgrow it between the ages of two and four, but some don’t. Continued thumb sucking can affect the way teeth grow in, and the child’s bite. If it becomes an issue with your child, please ask us for tips to discourage it.
Dental Care Today is a full-service practice. The services we offer include general and family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and oral cancer screenings. We provide dental care for the whole family. Schedule an appointment with us today.
